"I wish it were fin du globe," said Dorian with a sigh. "Life is a great disappointment."

A Filofax used as a journal.

One of the things I want to start doing is journaling in a private manner. I've tried numerous times in the past but I think what caused me to stop was the type of notebook I was using. I've tried Moleskines (I still love them), leather bound journals, online journals (and I've had some success in the past with LiveJournal), and other types of paper. I hope the Filofax is my answer. I quite enjoy the fact that I can remove a page and it won't ruin or alter the state of the notebook. Removing a page of a Moleskine will risk you having to remove a few pages that are all stitched together! And, when that happens my OCD thinks the notebook is ruined.

The Filofax Original is really nice because it lays flat from the get-go. You can personalize it any way you want. I've already made a few dividers and a pocket (which I'll share in a later post.) The dividers will separate my journal from my bucket list and travel notes.

With turning 30 just around the corner, I want to document everything--including my real self. I don't want to forget what ran through my mind and how I perceived the world. If I'm lucky enough to live into old age, I will love going back and reading everything.

What do you use as a journal? If you don't journal, why not?
