New job! I don't start until July 6th but getting the job offer was a relief and just what I needed after a stressful start to 2015.
Tried a new (to me) place in the Short North called Condado. I really enjoyed it and their pineapple guacamole was amazing.
Orange Is The New Black season three was released to Netflix and we finished it in three days. It wasn't my favorite season but it was nice to see some of my favorite characters again.
We participated in our first yard sale with our neighborhood. We made almost $100 bucks and it funded our dinners and some new plants for the apartment. The rest of the stuff we didn't sell was immediately donated.
Twin Peaks! How in the world have I gotten by without watching Twin Peaks? We aren't finished but this show is right up my alley plot wise all the way down to aesthetics.
I started reading Sacre Bleu by Christopher Moore but school and work and new job stuff got in the way. I have about 25% left and will finish in July. It's really quite good though! I highly recommend this book for art students/graduates! But really, anyone can appreciate this subject matter. It blends historical figures and fiction quite nicely.
Jurassic World! I enjoyed the movie.
SCOTUS ruled that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states. This is a huge deal. I am so glad to finally see it happen. Congrats to all of those who can finally marry and receive the rights they deserve. Invite me to your gay wedding, okay?
Caitlyn Jenner's Vogue cover was a big deal. While transgendered issues have been around for a while, and very steadily with people like Laverne Cox and Janet Mock in the media, having someone like Caitlyn Jenner in the spotlight should do a lot of good. What's interesting about Caitlyn is that she was an olympian and at the time, a huge idol for men. Maybe she can cause those who never cared for the subject to change their minds and be more accepting.
/- Ryan and I are planning a week vacation for August and while it's fun to suggest places and look them up, it's actually stressful when we price it and consider the logistics of driving time versus flying time, money for food and hotel, etc etc. We'll see where we end up! We've gone from wanting to go to Kentucky for Mammoth Cave to wanting to go to Colorado to wanting to go to Arches National Park in Utah. We can't make up our minds.
- Charleston church shooting in North Carolina. We have a long way to go when it comes to racism in this country. So unnecessary.
