+ I ended my spring semester on May 2nd (well, technically I had one more exam on May 6th but that one was very easy) and drove to Cleveland since it was my mom's 7 year deathiversary. I visited her grave and finally found the Haserot Angel. I can't tell you how stupid we felt after we found it because it's essentially in plain sight from one of the cemetery's paved roads. For some reason we figured it was hidden. But, it's a beautiful gravestone and I'm glad I snapped photos of it!
+ I received my first product to review on my blog and I love it still! It's hanging in my sunroom and I really would love to continue to review things if companies are up for it! (I actually have some Rx sunglasses coming my way for review, woohoo!)
+ I finished reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and am quite proud that I did. It was a hefty read and since I was reading it with other books, I felt like I'd never finish. I also read Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel and it was quite good!
+ I was called in for an interview for the accelerated nursing program that I applied to. The interview went well and was much more casual than I had expected. We didn't even go over my essay or interests resume. Now, unfortunately, I wait until they send acceptance/denial letters in July. I did make sure to mail about a Thank You note. Fingers crossed that I get this--I've worked so hard for it.
+ We had a cold front move into Ohio and took advantage of the 60 degree weather by going to the zoo! It was so nice walking around and not getting sweaty/overheated. We saw the new(ish) African exhibit with the cheetahs, lions and giraffes.
+ We finally got around to starting 'Broadchurch' season 2 and it's already got me hooked. I highly recommend this series--just watch the British version. They made an American version called 'Gracepoint' that was already cancelled. This show will give me something to watch until Orange Is The New Black's return on June 12th.
+ Leave it to me to not realize that I had 45 hours of PTO. I've already requested June 12th off (since Orange Is The New Black premieres and that weekend is going to be so so crazy busy--we are participating in the neighborhood yard sale, the Columbus Art Fest is happening, and I have tests/homework due, AND the new Jurassic Park movie premieres that weekend.) I also took July 3rd and 4th off (for the DooDah parade and to watch fireworks somewhere in the city), and a week in August for a small camping vacay in Mackinaw that will hopefully double as a celebration that I got into nursing school. For the Mackinaw trip I'm hoping to get a tiny cabin instead of using our tent. I'm looking forward to seeing the Milky Way in the sky again (and to take better photos of it this time around!)
+/- Mad Men ended. It was beautiful, exciting, and sad all at the same time. Betty Draper's storyline ended tragically (which made me sad because I always loved her), Peggy's was happy, and Don's was up in the air. The implying of him making a famous Coca-Cola commercial was really great but Don's life in general is a bit sad.
- There's always something to stress about. I try to not talk about any of that in my social medias (well, maybe I vent a little on my private Twitter) but most of my stress goes into my paper journal that no one can see. I consider myself pretty good at handling whatever comes my way but lately I've just felt overwhelmed.
- How do I get more interaction on my blog? I get really good page views and a lot of people find my blog through google searches but I'm just not there yet on comments. Maybe I'll hold a giveaway to entice you people.
