Echinacea are contenders for the title of "Angie's favorite flowers". I love their drooping petals and how long they stay in bloom each season. They're not your typical flower, they're sturdy. They grow on the side of roads as well as manicured yards. These flowers don't discriminate and they try to make every neighborhood a little brighter. Their petals give them a somewhat gloomy look and I find that interesting since most flowers are symbols of sunshine-summer-happiness. I also love that they attract bumblebees. I love bumbles and I love taking photos of them. They have cute fuzzy bodies and I've never felt like one was going to attack me, and that's probably because they're preoccupied with their pollen gathering. Maybe these flowers are so glum because they have big fat bumbles walking on them all day. It's an idea.
