Just a quick little portrait of Dorian. I was hoping to get some bokeh behind him with my 85mm lens but he just wouldn't sit in the right spot. I'm still working on getting the perfect photo but here's my first try. This image is actually really perfect for my iPhone and iPad because the time and date goes right between his ears.
What is creating this bokeh, you ask? Ryan got a silver tree with LED lights from work for free. I was content on not having a tree (I don't like or have the space for holiday decor) but I do like silver and free is free. The box is thin enough that it wont be too much of a hassle to store.
What's everyone's status on gift purchasing? I am done and the presents are wrapped! All I have to do is send out my Reddit secret santa gift by the 19th. Even the cats got presents but they received them early--we went to the CFA all breeds cat show last weekend and got them some toys. Three years ago I went and got a toy that they still use to this day, but it is on it's last limb, and I was happy to find the vendor there this year! High quality dangly toys for cheap. I think I got 5 total for $20. If I were to buy them in a store, it would have been a $80 purchase. It was a total score. I'm also waiting on a Bath and Body Works candle order. I got candles for a few co-workers (and myself.)
As far as Christmas day, I volunteered to work in the morning until 2pm. Holidays are so laid back at the nursing home. There's a lot of foot traffic but everyone is much friendlier. I honestly just chill, drink my coffee, and say hello to family members and residents.
Other than that, I'm just getting everything in order for 2015. The first few months will be stressful with applying to nursing school. I'm excited though, 2015 should be a good year. We're even planning a proper vacation to Palm Springs/LA/San Fran, CA. We'll see.
